File / Photo / Image Preparation
This page provides information on how to prepare your file / photo / image for final output (i.e. if you want to submit it to us so that it requires only minimal adjustment prior to printing).
Please bear in mind: if you are submitting such a file, it will be too large to send via email. If you indicate to us that the file has been prepared for final output, we will contact you with details of how to use our file upload facility, which supports files of up to 600 megabytes in size.
IMPORTANT: Never compress or ‘optimise’ a photo prior to sending it to us, as this can degrade the quality of the image.
File / Photo / Image Requirements For Final Output
| Image Resolution: |
360 ppi (pixels-per-inch) |
| Acceptable Formats: |
Flattened PSD, TIF or PNG files (no layers). JPEG and BMP files also accepted. For best results, we recommend that you submit a PSD or TIF file. |
| Output Sharpening: |
Not applied unless specifically requested by client. |
ICC Colour Profile:
(if applicable) |
Save (i.e. tag) the image / photo / file with either the corresponding input profile or the profile of your editing colour space. Do NOT convert to any of our ICC media profiles. For best results, the number of conversions from an RGB-type colour space to a CMYK-type colour space (and vice-versa) should be minimised. |
